Musicians Laura O'Keane and Mary Quinn from Music Generation Meath invite families with young children to an interactive music session in the gallery. Inspired by our exhibition 'I am Sitting in a Room', this celebration of movement and sound will engage even the youngest of audiences, as you experiment with instruments and voice together.

Mary Quinn started playing the violin at 8 and received tuition from many highly regarded tutors such as Ronald Masin and Joanne Quigley. She has travelled extensively throughout Europe with the Young European Strings Chamber Orchestra. Teaching music has always been her passion, both violin and early years’ music. She has completed her level 2 Suzuki violin teacher training with the British Suzuki Institute(BSI) and more recently has undertaken Kodaly musicianship training with the National Youth Choir of Scotland(NYCOS).

Laura O’Keane is a classical violinist who has over 10 years’ experience as a Music Educator and Performer.  She is involved with Music Generation Meath, delivering Strings and Early Years Music programmes in various Primary schools throughout the county. A violinist with Wexford Sinfonia, Laura enjoys playing in both classical and traditional settings. She achieved Distinction in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Community and Group Music Teaching Diploma course.
