Associated Artists Programme
Solstice Arts Centre's Associated Artists Programme provides support and financial assistance to artists to further their artistic development and careers. Each year Solstice works with new artists to identify areas of their practice that could benefit from support, including financial assistance, rehearsal / development space, technical, marketing and artistic mentoring, and performance opportunities. This year Solstice selected Catherine Fay as the Creative Producer for the Associated Artists Programme.
For the past thirty years, Catherine has designed costumes for many major Irish companies across various art forms like theatre, dance, and opera. Her designs have been seen across national and international stages. This extended period in the arts has given Catherine a broad range of experience alongside her design work.
Fay was the Head of Costume at The Abbey Theatre, Dublin where her role involved the strategic direction, overall planning, and management of the department. She also taught at The Lir Academy on BA and MA programmes.
Fay is also the Chairperson of ISSSD (Irish Society of Stage and Screen Designers) and her position involves expanding the appreciation of scenography and promoting the profession of scenography in a wider socio-cultural and educational context.
