A Day in the Life

HSE Soilse Project  Presents “A Day in the Life” Raw and Unflinching. Individuals share their journey through addiction, and how they have overcome the battle to fight their way out into recovery. A Documentary humanising addiction and recovery, challenging stigma, and celebrating the resilience of people who are telling their own stories in their own voices.

HSE Soilse has been in operation since 1992 and offers a holistic education-based approach to addiction recovery. Through the vision of it’s founder Gerry McAleenan it has supported recovery in Dublin’s North Inner City, an area deeply rooted and entrenched in addiction complexities for over 30 years. Written and  set in the summer of 2024, this film explores all aspects of addiction and recovery the origins of individuals pathways and stories into addiction, the experiences of the system that set up to support both addiction treatment and the eventual  power that exists when a person finally gets to commence  their journey in recovery, this film will take you on that journey, allowing you to experience first hand the stories of these individuals and how recovery is contagious.

This screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
