This workshop is aimed at introducing participants to the basics of the Indian Classical dance of Bharatanatyam. The core of Bharatanatyam lies in its ability to tell stories with evocative expressions and performing intricate footwork sequences. You will be introduced to some aspects of the dance form, as well as postures, rhythm, gestures, and expression. The workshop aims to build space for alternative ways of thinking about dance and strengthening community. No prior dance experience necessary.
