Following the acclaim of his album The River and a hugely successful tour, Bruce Springsteen retreats to rural New Jersey. Struggling with the pressures of success - culminating in a crippling identity crisis and haunted by memories of a turbulent childhood - he starts to write a new album: a raw, haunted acoustic record that would become the renowned Nebraska album.
Defying expectations and recorded on a 4-track recorder in his bedroom, Nebraska is considered one of Springsteen’s most enduring works. Based on the book “Deliver Me from Nowhere’’ and written & directed for the screen by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), this biopic stars Jeremy Allen White as The Boss, with Jeremy Strong as his long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau.
“[Jeremy Allen White] is wholly convincing in voice, mannerisms and musical performance…” – Tara Brady, The Irish Times
“White is quietly effective as Bruce, having perfected the singer’s trademark honeycomb rasp.” – Stephanie Zacharek, Time Magazine
