This is a site-specific exploration of two locations on either side of the River Boyne, focusing on the preservation and expansion of our riparian habitats through practical actions, hands-on learning, and artistic engagement.
Supporting Boyne Rivers Trust Floodplain Woodlands Project, participate in their new Tree Nursery at Townley Hall, learning from ecologist Ryan Wilson Parr about the on-going collection, propagation and nurturing of local, native trees for planting in various locations in the coming years. Assist in the preparation of seedlings and respond to the environment through mark-making using oak gall ink with artist Penelope Lacey.
Traverse the river to Oldbridge for a sensory walk to witness the future potential of the Tree Nursery seedlings. Exploring the habitat in this area of historical, cultural and natural beauty, ‘tune-in’ to the language of the trees and hidden ecosystems with Cineál, creating further responses collectively with found and natural materials.
