Sightless Cinema: workshops for blind and visually impaired adults

Fridays, 10am – 1pm, free

Sightless Cinema aims to empower people with sight loss as artistic collaborators and creators in the medium of audio theatre. The project has proved an excellent platform for personal development and social inclusion, while also raising awareness of sight loss in the broader community. Creative Director Ciarán Taylor works the participants to explore, devise, perform record and present a radio drama.

Silver Swans - Over 55s Ballet

Specially designed for older learners, Silver Swans Over 55's ballet classes will help improve your mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels. Royal Academy of Dance licensed teacher Michelle Kehoe A.I.S.T.D. who has been teaching ballet for over 25 years, leads 6-week courses at Solstice.

Life Drawing with Artist Cáit Moloney

Age Group: Adults & students. No experience necessary, artists of all levels welcome
Admission: €80 for block of 6.
 

Guided by artists Cáit Moloney and Deirdre Rogers, these relaxed, social sessions are an opportunity to flex your life drawing skills and improve your drawing practice. Over 6 sessions, engage at your own pace, focusing on different elements of drawing the human figure with a variation of models and props. Artists of all levels are welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own drawing materials of choice. Chairs, drawing boards and light refreshments will be provided.

Deirdre Rogers is the Learning & Engagement Coordinator at Solstice. Cáit Moloney is an Irish artist and founder of the art company Caught Rapid. Her highly diverse style ranges from realism and life drawing, to abstract pieces and the theatrical. She has sold her artwork through the Saatchi Gallery in London, as well as several vintage boutiques and venues in Ireland. Earlier this year, Cáit completed a Masters in Fine Arts in Playwriting with the Lir Academy, Trinity College Dublin, after receiving the Patricia Leggett Scholarship for academic prowess.

Act Out - Youth Theatre @ Solstice

ACT OUT YOUTH THEATRE
ACT OUT is a not-for-profit youth theatre company creating quality theatre experiences with young people in the Meath area.

MISSION AND VISION
Act Out Youth Theatre sets out to provide an annual programme of activities including weekly youth theatre workshops and performance opportunities that respond to the needs and interests of the young people. We want to ensure that the youth theatre programme is accessible to all in Meath.

The Artistic Vision of the group will be guided largely by the students, however it will likely consist of comprehensive performance training sessions and regular rehearsals aiming towards at least one major production per year.

Smaller events happening throughout the year such as:

Theatre trips
One-off specialised workshops
Smaller in-house displays of work etc.


Established in 2017, Act Out Youth Theatre is a proud member of the Irish youth theatre community and affiliated to Youth Theatre Ireland. Act Out Youth Theatre is a not-for-profit charity, partnered with Solstice Arts Centre & supported by Meath Arts Office.
