Adapting Maggie O’Farrell’s best-selling novel, Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet explores the initial courtship between William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) and free-spirited Agnes Hathaway (Jessie Buckley), which leads to a happy marriage and three children. But while Will is in London furthering his theatre career, an unbearable tragedy strikes the family and tests the previously strong bond of the couple.
