Muruga Layam by Uma Shankar - a Thematic Bharathanatyam Production on Lord Muruga

Sree Shiva Academy is proud to present its first thematic production, Muruga Layam, dedicated to the glory of Lord Muruga. This is solo repertoire by Uma Shankar, choreographed by Sri. Vishnu Shankar, both disciples of Natyacharya Sri RLV Anand.

'Muruga Layam' leads audiences on a journey of bhakti, unveiling the many facets of the beloved deity. From the tender love shared with his consorts Valli and Devasena, to the sacred pilgrimage through the hills of Palani, and the triumphant victories over the demon Sura.

Each step rings like the chime of temple bells, each glance flows like the river of devotion. Here, rhythm becomes offering, movement becomes worship, and the stage blooms with the colours of Muruga's grace.
