Navan Community Singers: Just Sing

Just Sing - Navan Community Singers 10th Anniversary Celebration

Join Navan Community Singers and friends as they celebrate their landmark 10th Anniversary with a concert extravaganza, featuring a selection of favourites from their extensive repertoire.

The choir was founded by parents of pupils attending St. Oliver Plunkett National School, who got together as part of a Home-School Liaison project and singing has become a refuge for all of us over the years since. There is a wealth of research that proves the benefits of singing on health and wellbeing across the lifespan and we aim to boost that even more with our song choices.

Today, under the direction of Elaine Uí Ghéaráin, and with the support of an active and dedicated committee, Navan Community Singers is going from strength to strength. Even on those dark winter Monday nights, most of us leave rehearsal feeling better than we did when we arrived.

The choir endeavours to be active in the community, performing as part of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Navan Pride and fundraising for local charities including Meath Women’s Refuge. We have performed at the Clann Mór Christmas party for several years and provide a warm welcome to Navan Racecourse Festivals. We like to enter the local Navan Choral Festival competitions and were even convinced to sing as Gaeilge last year which was a steep learning curve for some.

We are delighted to be in a position to perform all the great music we have been working hard on for all our loyal supporters, friends, family members and hopefully some future choir members!
