Potatoes and Pickles: Film Screening & Exhibition
This is a free event. No booking required.
Date & Time: Sat 22 February, 11am - 1pm
Location: Solstice Studio
Film Duration: 32 minutes
Potatoes and Pickles is a short film of a collaborative art project in Beaufort House Nursing Home, Navan. Facilitated by visual artist Joanna Hopkins, the project made use of an empty polytunnel at Beaufort House, a residential unit for older persons. This space became a place for art making, growing, cooking, and eating with residents. Filmed from Spring to Autumn 2024, it documents the interactions that took place every Wednesday for nine months. The film screening at Solstice Arts Centre is accompanied by an exhibition of prints and ceramics created by the participants. Light refreshments will also be served.
Supported by project partner Solstice Arts Centre, Potatoes and Pickles is an art project funded by Create's Artist in the Community Award with visual artist Joanna Hopkins. Create is the national development agency for collaborative arts.
