Sightless Cinema: Lost and Found -an evening of audio plays in the dark
Sightless Cinema Meath returns to Solstice after four recent successful shows. Lost and Found is a new programme of immersive surround sound audio shorts in collaboration with Sightless Cinema Network, mixing comedy, drama and music in some unexpected stories about sight loss.
Meath Sightless Cinema present Red Boots, a musical story of Daisy, whose life has taken a downward turn, when out of the blue she bumps into an old school sweetheart in the park. Created by the performers, with Amy Flood and Navan musician Alan Carmody, it’s an exciting first for Meath Sightless Cinema.
The programme also features ‘Split Time’, where a blind runner’s fall fractures more than his ankle, forcing him and his guide to confront some hard truths about their friendship. ‘Cuckoo’s Lane’ is a housing crisis comedy, about adult children moving home, a misplaced modular house and a John Deere tractor. As usual the evening with some surprise new live audio dramas performed by members of the Sightless Cinema Network is a firm favorite with audience members.
Optional blindfolds are provided to help bring you into the world of Sightless Cinema.
Now in its twelfth successful year, Sightless Cinema is a collaborative arts project led by director Ciarán Taylor, for people with sight loss to devise and produce audio theatre.
