Edward - an aspiring actor living with neurofibromatosis - opts to undergo an experimental treatment for his condition. It ends up curing him and radically changing his appearance. Now unrecognisable, he takes on the alias of ‘Guy’ and begins a romantic and creative relationship with his playwright neighbour Ingrid. Edward initially revels in his new circumstances, but everything is upended when the charismatic Oswald - another actor with neurofibromatosis - arrives into his life.

Aaron Schimberg’s blackly comic psychological thriller boldly confronts difficult questions around self-perception, beauty, and attraction, and is unafraid to delve into the strange, messy answers. It boasts a trifecta of superb central performances from Sebastian Stan, Adam Pearson, and Renate Reinsve, all operating at the top of their games.
