When we look at an artwork, do we think about the gestures and actions of the artists hands in its making?

Join exhibiting artist Eileen O'Sullivan to investigate her artwork "How to" in our current exhibition The First Frontier Was the Horizon. By looking and responding, reveal realistic imagery amongst vibrant abstract colours and shapes created in paint and stitch.

Celebrating the ‘power of the handmade’, pupils will experience drawing, colour and 3-dimensional collage to create works from everyday items. Through imagination and the act-of-making, they will elevate domestic objects into personalised works of art.

Pupils are asked to bring a selection of materials destined for the recycling bin e.g. clean, dry empty containers, cardboard kitchen roll tube, shiny paper etc.
