This is a school workshop.
Discover and respond to the themes and multiple cultural identities that inspired artist Barbara Kneževic to create new sculptural and film works in her solo exhibition ‘The Iron Gates’. Following a gallery tour, pupils will be encouraged to think about words that are meaningful to them, in a language of their choice, or native tongue. Through a process of collaboration and participation, each child will build a vocabulary of home and belonging through processes of writing, collage, and clay building.
With an emphasis on looking and responding to art, this explorative workshop also links to language and literacy, identity and belonging, SESE, geography, history and SPHE.
