Encouraging students to create new and personal visual language through interpretation and hands-on experimentation with materials, this workshop provides an opportunity to explore and consider the multi-layered themes, creative processes, and immersive theory and thinking behind the artist’s works in our contemporary group exhibition Thresholds to the Unseen.

Facilitated by visual artist Joanna Hopkins, students are invited to develop sculptural responses using a range of materials relating to the tactile, ritual and sensory forms generated by these contemporary artworks. Working collaboratively, this workshop links to components within Content Area 3 - Today’s World of the Visual Studies Curriculum.

Joanna Hopkins is a multi-disciplinary visual artist. Exploring plants, flowers, folklore and psychology, she works between video, installation, drawing, collage and sculpture.

All our workshops are documented for Solstice archival and promotional purposes. If you have any questions or students with special requirements, please let us know in advance of your booking.
